The story

Kairos Climate Security founder, Katelin Wright, is a seasoned security and immigration expert with over a decade of experience addressing complex challenges in homeland security, emergency management, and environmental-related security implications.  Katelin leverages her professional experience and academic research on climate change to educate, write, and speak about climate security. Her groundbreaking research on climate change-induced migration earned her the Outstanding Thesis Award. After graduating from Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), she was selected for the 2021-2022 Climate and Security Advisory Group (CSAG) Climate and Security Fellowship Program. During the fellowship, she wrote pieces about the Civilian Climate Corps and the weaponization of climate migration through misinformation and disinformation. Katelin continues to explore the intersection of climate change and security by providing training sessions and speaking at numerous panels, academic institutions, and federal agencies. She is also a recurring speaker with the Emergence Program and serves as an Innovation Coach for students working on their change initiatives. Recently, Katelin launched her own LLC, Kairos Climate Security, aiming to help organizations anticipate climate change-related risks and opportunities through education and research.
